After all our excitement last week...
« on: April 30, 2009, 11:11:34 AM »
We had the camper home for one week, and now it is back at the dealer.  :(

On Sunday, I was doing some organizing in the camper, and noticed a 4-5" diameter spot on the bedroom wall that was wrinkled.  Not a good thing, I think.  There is also a smaller spot directly above that one.  It is now back at the dealer to determine what is going on.  I have to believe these spots just appeared, because they are pretty noticeable, and I'm sure somebody would have seen them before now.

Also, the two tires on the door side of the camper were discolored and cracking.  So, those need to be replaced as well.

I am crossing my fingers that our Memorial Day trip will still happen.  I hope to hear back from the dealer by tomorrow at the latest.

So terrible.  I wish you the best of luck with betting it fix correctly and quickly.  Hang in there, it will be great in the end.

Yes, that is a shame about your TT. But with the trailer being new hopefully they'll get it resolved long before Memorial Day comes. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you also!  :)

Well the good news is it was found now and hopefully they can correct it within the month.

Do you think it was a leak?

Best of luck! Hoping it works out for you soon.

Thank you all!

I can't imagine where it would be leaking from if it was a leak, but what do I know?  I am glad we caught it, and I know it will all work out.  It's just a matter of timing now.

I still haven't heard anything yet, but I will try to call the dealer later today.

So sorry to hear about the new TT. But it's good it was found now, and not later this summer when you really want to use it and not leave it for repairs.

Don't feel too bad, it's normal to find something wrong in a new TT!

I hope they can fix it. Maybe the roof is leaking down into the wall. Good luck and keep us posted!

I do have an update this morning.  The tire manufacturer is sending 4 new tires, so those will be put on this week.

As far as the wall, we are going to wait on it.  Until they tear it apart, they won't know what is wrong.  They don't suspect a water leak, so hopefully it won't get worse, but we'll be keeping an eye on it.  It's all under warranty, so we can wait and get it fixed after the season is done.

I feel much better now - I'm sure I just overreacted a bit!  :-[  I hope to have it back in the driveway by the weekend so I can continue my packing.

That sounds like good news as long as you do not miss any camping.  good luck and have fun?  Do you know your site for Memorial Day?

I don't think you overreacted at all. It's best to get everything fixed! Sometimes people push aside problems and think, oh it's too much of a hassle to fix, so they ignore it.

That is a good idea to wait until the fall/winter to fix the wall. That way you won't miss out. What's the sense of having an RV if it's in repair all summer! ugh! not fun.

Good luck - hope it comes back soon!

Yes, my biggest concern was missing camping trips.  That was not going to happen!  ;)

Gary, we are on site 146 for Memorial Day.  We won't get there Friday until about 6:30ish because I have to wait for DH to get out of work.  I'm trying to convince him to get out a bit early, but no luck with that so far.  :-\
